The summer season, from April to June, can be very hot and humid, with temperatures reaching up to 45°C. It is best to avoid this time of year if you don’t have a good reason for visiting Bodh Gaya.
The monsoon season, from July through September, brings heavy rainfall and is not recommended for travel during this period.
However, if you don't mind the heat, the summer season is a good time to visit Bodh Gaya as it is less crowded. In addition, the summer season has less humidity and mosquitoes than other times of year. The weather conditions are also milder during this season which makes it easier for visitors to stay outdoors longer without getting tired or sweaty from spending too much time indoors.

Buddha Purnima is a major festival in the Buddhist calendar and is celebrated on the full moon day of May. The festival marks Buddha's birthday, when he was born as prince Siddhartha Gautama, who later renounced his possessions and became an ascetic to find enlightenment.
The highlight of this celebration is a procession through town from Mahabodhi Temple to Bodh Gaya's main temple compound where monks perform religious rites for followers to pay homage to their beloved teacher.
Dussehra, or Durga Puja is a festival of lights and festivities. It is celebrated on the tenth day of the waxing moon in the Hindu month of Kartik. The celebration begins with prayer and meditation followed by an elaborate puja ceremony where lamps are lit up to please Goddess Durga (Goddess Lakshmi).
During this time, children dress up as superheroes to fight against evil spirits like Rakshasas or demons who have harmed them in previous years. They also play games like kabaddi and cricket while adults cook delicious food such as parathas (scrambled eggs), samosas etc., which they share with each other after having their own snacks too!
The Mahabodhi Temple complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the main attraction in Bodh Gaya and is open year-round. The temple itself was built in 528 AD by Ashoka the Great to mark his attainment of enlightenment.

The main temple - This three-storied building features four niches with images of Buddha and his disciples on each side. It's surrounded by seven smaller temples dedicated to different aspects of Buddhism:
Jnanasramadaya Sutra Mandir (Sutra Library) - This library contains over 2,000 Buddhist texts including commentaries on them; it's one of India's largest libraries for this purpose.
Abhisamayagiri Dagoba - A pagoda believed to be built around 500 AD; it has been restored several times since then but still retains many original features from its original construction
The temple complex can get crowded during peak tourist season, so it is advisable to visit early in the morning.
