Kozhikode is a port city in the state of Kerala, India. It is the capital city of Kerala and also the largest city in southern India. Kozhikode was once known as Calicut, which means "Fortified Harbour". It is now one of the fastest growing cities in India and has earned itself a reputation as one of Asia's most cosmopolitan cities thanks to its blend of tradition and modernity.
Kozhikode Beach is a popular tourist destination in the city of Kozhikode. It has a long history and is famous for being one of the most beautiful beaches in Kerala.
The beach has many Kozhikode restaurants and Kozhikode hotels, as well as shops selling everything from souvenirs to electronics. There are also several water sports activities available at this location such as scuba diving or snorkeling on its coral reefs or swimming with Dolphins!
The lighthouse is a symbol of Kozhikode's history and culture. It was built in 1883, making it one of the oldest lighthouses on India’s east coast. The lighthouse has been maintained by the Indian Navy since its inception and continues to serve as an important landmark for ships passing through this port city.
You can visit this historic site anytime during daylight hours; however, given that it’s located at sea level, you may want to take your camera with you if you plan on taking any photographs outside of its walls!
SM Street is Kozhikode's best shopping destination. It is a paradise for all kinds of products, including clothes, accessories and perfumes. The street has a wide range of stores with an assortment of products that will suit every preference and taste. If you're looking for something stylish or unique to wear on your next trip, then this place will have what you need!
SM Street also has plenty of places where tourists can spend their money in exchange for local currency (Indian Rupees). Many shops sell souvenirs like postcards or trinkets that are popular among locals as well as foreigners visiting Kerala state about eight hundred kilometers south west from Mumbai city center on India's west coast near where Mumbai meets Goa province which lies along India's southern border but closer than how far away from New York City would be if it were located only north eastwardly along highway 20 rather than southwardly across America's Eastern Seaboard
Sagar Restaurant is a local favourite and one of the best places to enjoy Kerala cuisine. It is a family run restaurant, where you can enjoy local food in style. The atmosphere is also very pleasant and friendly, which makes it an ideal place for family meals or weekend getaways with friends.
The food served at this restaurant is rich in flavour as well as aroma; you will definitely fall in love with every single dish on their menu! You can order any dish from their menu according to your taste buds and preferences (or rather what looks good). The prices are reasonable too; so if you're planning on visiting this place with some friends then there's no need for concern about budgeting too much money just yet!
Kappad Beach is a beautiful beach in the city of Kozhikode. It's a popular tourist destination, with many restaurants and hotels nearby. The beach itself has a charming atmosphere with its small fishing boats anchored on the shoreline, giving you an opportunity to take some stunning photos of your own!
Kappad Beach also has its own lighthouse which was built in 1869 by British engineers who had come here during their first visit to India during this period (they were working on railways). The lighthouse still works today; it's powered by solar panels installed inside it.
Take a boat ride on the backwaters
The best way to see the backwaters is by taking a tour, but if you don't have time for that, there are still plenty of options for getting up close and personal. You can hire out a canoe or kayak and paddle through them at night or in the morning when there's less traffic. If you don't want to get wet (or if it's hot), then just rent an electric scooter instead! Either way, this will give you an opportunity to take in some spectacular views of Kozhikode's mangrove forests while being surrounded by nature at its most beautiful.
Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary
Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is a bird sanctuary in Kozhikode. It is located in the city of Kozhikode, Kerala and has an area of 2 hectares. The sanctuary was established in 1984 with an aim to protect birds from extinction, promote conservation awareness among visitors and help ensure that endangered species continue to thrive within their natural environment.
The Pazhassiraja Museum and Art Gallery is located in the Kozhikode Corporation Art Gallery. This museum has a great collection of artworks, including paintings, sculptures and artifacts from various periods of history. The collection includes works by artists such as Raja Ravi Varma and Gouri Lakshmi Bai which were donated by the king himself to help preserve his legacy.
The Pazhassiraja Museum also houses an impressive collection of ancient paintings from various parts of Kerala including temples which have been preserved thanks to this donation by King Rama Varma."
If you’re in Kozhikode, don't miss the Mananchira Square. This central location is home to the famous Kozhikode Beach Lighthouse and a number of shops and restaurants. A great place to start your day out on the town!
The Kozhikode Corporation Art Gallery is a great place to visit if you're looking for a free cultural activity. It's open from 9:30am to 5:30pm daily and located in the Corporation Building, which has an amazing collection of artworks.
The gallery has a wide range of items on display, including paintings by famous artists such as Vincent van Gogh and Picasso. There are also sculptures by Michelangelo and Rodin as well as traditional Kerala folk art pieces such as puppets from Malabar region or toys made out of coconut shells.
The Sree Cinema Theatre is a historic cinema theatre in Kozhikode, Kerala. It is located at the heart of the city and has been serving as an important venue for film festivals and other events since its inception in 1937.
The theatre was built by George Daruwala who also founded Malabar Film Corporation Limited (MFC). MFC was one of the earliest companies to produce films in Malayalam language at that time.
The Sree Cinema Theatre houses several rare artifacts including some from Hollywood movies like ‘Casablanca’ or ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ which were shot here during their shooting schedules between 1943-1944 when it was still under construction!
The Thusharagiri Waterfalls are located in the Wayanad district, which is a popular destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. It’s one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Kerala and can be reached by trekking through forests or on foot. The climb up to this waterfall takes approximately 2 hours but it’s well worth it!
The best time to visit this waterfall is during monsoon season (July-August) when there are fewer crowds than other times of year. If you want to avoid crowds, then go at night when everyone else has gone home or early morning before sunrise when there aren't many people around either way either way!
The Planetarium is a great place to hang out with friends and family. It has an atmosphere that’s perfect for learning about space, astronomy, and more. The planetarium is located in the Government College of Arts & Science campus, which makes it easy to get there from anywhere in Kozhikode city.
The planetarium offers tours of its facility throughout the day as well as evening shows for those who want to see what goes on inside a real space station! If you want to learn about the universe beyond Earth then this is definitely something worth checking out!
Beypore Beach is a popular tourist destination in Kozhikode, Kerala. It is known as the beach where you can hang out with your friends and enjoy the time spent together.
Beypore Beach has many activities to do, such as swimming in the sea and riding on a boat ride around the area. There are also many restaurants here where you can eat food like seafood or local dishes if you're not hungry anymore after eating too much food at lunch time!
If you're looking to get out of Kozhikode, Wayanad is a great option. This picturesque town is perfect for enjoying the monsoon season and exploring its many attractions.
The best time to visit Wayanad is during the monsoon season, when everything is green and lush. If you'll be visiting during this time frame (mid-June through mid-September), make sure that your car has good tires or else it may not be able to drive on roads that are covered in mud or flooded by rainwater. The best way to travel around Wayanad is by bicycle—it's easy enough for anyone who can ride one! Or if you're more than capable of riding one yourself but don't want an extra burden on your shoulders while sightseeing around town: take advantage of boat rides available along lakeside villages such as Vamanapuram & Madayi Lake!
