The capital city of Sikkim is Gangtok, which was founded in the 16th century by the Songtsamnye Lama. It is situated at an altitude of 2,000 feet above sea level and has a population of about 80,000 people. Lachung is another beautiful place where tourists flock during winters due to its natural beauty; however unlike Lachen where most people go during winter season, most people visit Lachung when spring arrives because it's located near Nepal border where temperatures begin dropping down slowly till summer comes around again!
The best way to see the snow-capped mountains and valleys is by taking a yak ride. It’s an exhilarating experience, with you sitting on top of a horse or goat while it slowly makes its way through the countryside.
