Kundapur is a beautiful town in the southern state of Karnataka. It is famous for its beaches, water sports and tourist attractions like Anegudde Vinayaka Temple and Kundapur Beach. The town also has several temples which are visited by devotees throughout the year. Kundapur is a town in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is located on the banks of the river Sharavati, at an elevation of 1,200 feet (366 meters). The city was founded by King Avantivarman in 813 CE and has been ruled by several dynasties throughout its history, including the Cholas and Hoysalas between c. 8th to 13th centuries AD.   

Today it is known for tourism as well as being one of India's best beaches; there are several resorts that cater specifically to foreigners who want to visit this part of India during their holidays or vacations.   

Kodi Beach   

Kodi Beach is a beautiful beach in Kundapur. It is located in the Gulf of Mannar, and it's one of the most popular tourist spots in this area. The water here is crystal clear and perfect for swimming or snorkeling. You can also enjoy watching dolphins swim around you while relaxing on this beautiful beach!   

Kollur Mookambika Temple   

Kollur Mookambika Temple is a popular pilgrimage site in Kundapur, Karnataka. It is dedicated to Mookambika, the mother goddess who is considered to be the consort of Lord Shiva. The temple was built by King Virupaksha Desikar in 1535 AD and it has been renovated several times since then.   

The temple complex consists of four main structures: Garbhagriha, Mahamandapa (hall), Vimana (eastern tower) and Sannidhi (centre).   

Anegudde Vinayaka Temple

Lying in the heart of Kundapur, this temple is a popular tourist destination. It has been around for centuries and is one of the most beautiful temples in India. The main deity here is Lord Vinayaka, who is worshipped by both Hindus and Sikhs alike. Basrur   

Basrur is a small town in the district of Kundapur, Karnataka. It was known for its importance during the reign of Hoysala kings. The place is also known for its religious importance, as it has several temples built by them and have been maintained by their descendents up to date.   

The most popular one among all these temples is Sri Krishna Temple which was constructed during 14th century A.D., by Allamma Konna, who was daughter-in-law of King Chikka Devaraja III (1398-1412). This temple houses an idol of Lord Krishna with his consort Radha seated on his lap; however there are different versions regarding how this idol came into existence: one says that it was brought here by Narasimha Raya who ruled between 1484 and 1565 A..D.; while another version says that this idol belonged to Narasimha Raya himself but later lost when he fled from battle field after losing against Vijayanagar forces led by Chandragupta II's son Prataprajita II (1504–1529).   

Barkur   

Barkur is the birthplace of the famous poet, poetess and writer, Basavanna. It was also the place where Jnanadeva was born. This village boasts of having a beautiful lake with dense forests surrounding it which makes it an ideal tourist spot in Kundapur district   

Koteshwara Temple   

Kundalini Temple is located at the heart of town and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has been established since ages and has a history of about 1000 years. This temple is known for its natural beauty, which attracts tourists from all over India.   

The Koteshwara Temple was built by Minarbhai Purohit Patil in 1730 AD who was a devotee of Lord Shiva. He believed that this place would be perfect as an ashram (place of worship) because it had many statues depicting various forms of God like Ganesh and Shiva himself. This made him decide to build this place where thousands could come together and worship their favourite deity every day with devotion!   

St. Mary's Island   

St. Mary's Island is a small island in the Bay of Bengal, located near the mouth of the Tapi River and is an important port city in Karnataka, India. The island has been home to several important Hindu temples and religious sites since ancient times. It also houses some beautiful beaches, which can be reached by ferryboats from Kundapur port or by large ships from other ports such as Mangalore and Chennai.   

Kundapur Anegudde Yakshagana   

Kundapur Anegudde Yakshagana is a Yakshagana troupe. The troupe was founded by Muthuswamy Bhat, who was known as the "father of Yakshagana". He came from Kundapur, and made a career in acting and directing plays on stage.   

The group has been active since 1953 when they performed at the Rangavalli Arts College campus in Mangalore city. They have performed at many places such as Bangalore International School (BIS), St Joseph's College Suratkal, Kolar Gold Fields Museum etc., where they showcased their talents to students and tourists alike!   

Sri Brahmalingeshwara Temple   

The Sri Brahmalingeshwara Temple is located in the old city of Kundapur, and it is dedicated to Lord Brahma. The temple is a popular religious destination for people of all faiths and backgrounds, who come here to worship their gods or seek blessings from them.   

The temple was built during the 17th century by Maharaja Vijayanagar ruler Krishnadevaraya (1646–1680). It has been renovated several times since then; however, there are still many beautiful statues inside the building that were carved out when it first opened its doors back then!   

Kundapur Beach   

Kundapur beach is a beautiful beach, with white sand and crystal clear waters. It's a good place to go for a swim or picnic as well as for sunbathing on the beach itself. The water here is very warm and comfortable to swim in during summer months when it reaches its peak temperature of around 28° C (82° F).   

The most interesting feature about Kundapur Beach is that there are no waves at all! This makes it one of the cleanest beaches in India because there aren't any big rocks sticking out into deep waters like other beaches do; instead, you can walk right up onto this sandy beach without worrying about getting knocked over by large waves crashing into shoreline cliffs nearby.   

Kumbashi   

Kumbashi is a small town in the state of Karnataka, known for its beach and temple. The area has been inhabited since ancient times and was also home to a large population during Vijayanagar rule. Kumbashi is located on the coast of the Arabian Sea.   

The beach at Kumbashi is one of its most popular attractions, with clear blue water that makes it ideal for swimming and surfing during this time of year (December-January). In addition to swimming, visitors can enjoy walking along sand dunes or exploring surrounding areas like Madhav National Park or Mahabaleshwar Lake.   

Banvasi   

Banvasi is a small village in Kundapur taluk, Karnataka. It is also known as Banvasi-Bharatapura and Banavasi. The place has many temples dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha-Krishna, who are considered very important in this region of Karnataka.   

Banvasi attracts tourists because of its religious significance and scenic beauty. This place has been declared as one of the sacred places by UNESCO World Heritage Site on June 30th 2012 after being nominated for inclusion into list during 2008 - 2009 period along with four other sites namely Hampi (Karnataka), Bijapur (Maharashtra), Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) and Varanasi Cantonment (Uttar Pradesh).   

Banvasi attracts numerous pilgrims from all over India every year when they visit this temple town which was established during 14th century AD by Vijayanagara Empire ruler Deva Raya II who ruled over South India between 1350 AD – 1412 AD when temples were built here at different locations including Kodandaramaswamy Temple located near Akkalkot Gate; Sri Gundeshwara Temple situated near Nagawara Gate; Vaddeshwara Temple located near Naga Warah Road etc..   

Udupi   

Udupi is a town in the state of Karnataka, India. It is the headquarters of Udupi district and was formerly known as Panchavati. It is located on the banks of the Sharavathi River, which flows into Malaprabha River before it enters Arabian Sea at Kannur.   

Udupi has many temples including Someshwara Temple at Palimaru and Kesava temple at Manjalpur, Sri Krishna Temple at Devasandra and Gokarna Mahanubhavana(Gokarnam) near Kundapur.   

The best part about this city is that it has everything you need and more. There are plenty of places to visit, like the Kodi Beach, Kollur Mookambika Temple, Basrur Viewpoint, St. Mary's Island and even a World Heritage Site!
