Sindhudurg Fort

The outer walls are encircled by high cliffs, while inside there are many buildings including barracks, temples and palaces that were used during Shivaji's time as well as later by British rulers like Sir John Malcolm who conquered Sindhudurg from them in 1818 AD (after defeating Bhosale).

The temple was built by King Bhimdev I (1182–1246 CE), who ruled from Deogarh Fort near Kanchanbaug Lake in present-day Rajasthan state.
