Chittorgarh is a city in Rajasthan state in India. It is known for its architecture and fortifications. Chittorgarh was founded by Rao Bika (or RanaBika) who ruled from 1003-1042 CE. The city was originally called "Chitrakuta", after the name of this emperor's father-in-law, but later renamed after him when he ascended the throne. The fort of Chittorgarh was built during this time and became one of the most important citadels in India due to its strategic location along trade routes between Delhi and Central Asia as well as being close enough to stop any invasions coming from Afghanistan or Pakistan.[1]

The winter season in Chittorgarh is from November to February. It is the best time to visit this city as there are many festivals and events that take place during this period. The major festival of Chittorgarh is Navratri, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm by all Hindus living in the district. During this festival, people wear traditional clothes and perform various religious rituals such as garba dance and kite flying. Another important festival is Dussehra which marks the victory of good over evil with burning effigies of Ravan on Vijaya Dashmi (the 10th day of Ashwin month). People come out with their families on this occasion to celebrate together by eating sweets, playing games like kabaddi etc., while watching movies together on huge screens erected around town squares (for example at Town Hall Square)
The best time to visit Chittorgarh is during the spring season (March to May). One of the most important festivals here is the Festival of Colors, celebrated in the month of April. This festival is celebrated across the country with great pomp and show by treating people to colorful flowers and garlands. It is said that Chittorgarh was a main center for this festival in ancient times. This festival marks a change in the weather from winter to summer. The festive mood is high on this day and people come out into their villages to celebrate together. Visiting places around town, like Chittorgarh Temples and pilgrimage sites, forts, monuments etc., you will find some major festivities going on in town as well.
The major festivals and events that take place during this time are:
Rath Yatra, which is a five-day festival in which people celebrate the victory of Rama over Ravana by riding elephants through town. It's also known as "the Lord's Birthday".
Shrawan Mela, which occurs every year around mid-July and celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna on his birthday. There are several other festivals that occur throughout the year but these two are particularly important for visitors who want to experience Indian culture firsthand!

The Shahi Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on all days except Sundays, when it's closed. It's also closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the monsoon season, when there are heavy rains in northern India.

Chittorgarh is a city and a municipality in Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan state, India. The town lies on the bank of river Tawa. It is the main commercial center of the Chhattisgarh state and has a population of over 53 thousand. The city is located at a distance of 360 km from Raipur, the capital city. It is surrounded by famous ancient forts like Boral Ghati, Dharmagarh Fort and Kanker . Other cities in Chhattisgarh that are worth visiting are Bilaspur (25 kilometers away), Durg (70 kilometers) and Raipur (115 kilometers).
