The Annapoorneshwari Temple is a Dravidian-style temple dedicated to the goddess of wealth, Annapoorneshwari. This temple is located in the town of Horanadu and has been built in a square form with four entrances facing each other. The main deity of this temple is worshipped by women only as it is said that she was born on earth when her father placed an egg in a box full of milk mixed with spices and left it there overnight. When he opened up the box in morning, he found out that it had hatched into an infant girl who later became known as "Annapoorna".

The intricate carvings on inside walls depict scenes from Hindu mythology such as Krishna killing many demons including Putana (who killed her own son), Arjuna rescuing Draupadi from Indrajit's plot etc., whereas outside have several sculptures depicting various forms like yakshas (deities which reside under mountains), gandharvas (celestial musicians), nagas (serpent gods) etc..

The Nilgiri Hills have been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 because they represent some of the best examples we have left in the world today. You can see them from your hotels room or explore them on day trips from Horanadu; either way it's an experience you'll never forget!

Visit the serene and picturesque Kudremukh National Park

Kudremukh National Park is a popular tourist destination, and it's a great place to visit if you are looking for a peaceful retreat. The park covers an area of about 4913 km2, making it one of the largest national Garden and parks in Horanadu.

The name 'Kudremukh' means "headless" or "without head", referring to the fact that there was no head on top of Mount Kudremukh during our time at this site; this mountain peak stands at 810m above sea level and its summit has been shrouded in clouds most days since we arrived here!

The park lies along the Western Ghats mountain range which extends from North Malabar through South Kannara regions towards Kerala state down southwards towards southernmost tip of India (Cape Comorin).

The museum is located in the heart of town, and offers visitors a wide range of exhibits that detail the area's history. It's open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, so you can visit any time you want. The museum also has free admission for all visitors!

Take a dip in the refreshing waters of the nearby Bhadra River

If you're a fan of waterfalls, then why not visit the Bhadra River? The river is a tributary of the Krishna River and is located in Karnataka. It flows through Horanadu and has several beaches along its banks where you can take a dip in its refreshing waters.

The best time to go swimming here is during monsoon season when there are plenty of streams running into the Bhadra River from nearby mountains.

Visit the historic fort of Sringeri nearby

Sringeri is a town that has been around for centuries. The fort, built by the Kadamba kings in the 12th century, was once a major center of learning and worship. Today it's home to a large temple complex with several temples dedicated to Lord Narasimha (the killing form of Vishnu).

The main attraction here is known as “Sringeri Jain Temple” or Sringeri Mahadev Temples and pilgrimage sites in Horanadu. The shrine houses statues of Parshvanatha and Adinatha along with other deities like Bhagavati, Sharada Devi and Mahalakshmi; all said to be incarnations of Parvati Devi herself! You can climb up onto this hilltop shrine for amazing views over Horanadu below—but you'll need permission first!

The town boasts an abundance of beautiful buildings and monuments that showcase its rich history and heritage. It also offers visitors some of the most scenic natural surroundings in Karnataka state. This makes it one of my favorite places to visit when I travel south!
