The Lachung Monastery was founded in 1684 by Lama Thubten Gyalpo, who had previously been a monk at Samye Monastery. It is located in the Lachung Valley, which is part of Sikkim's rugged terrain and inhabited by many different tribes.
The monastery has an interesting history that includes being attacked by British soldiers during World War II (1939-1945). However, it has remained intact through all these years of turmoil because it still houses many Buddhist statues and artifacts that were left behind when they fled their homes after being displaced during conflict with India's army.

The journey takes about an hour on foot or you could hire a taxi for around $7 USD per person (roundtrip). When you get there, you will find a beautiful pool surrounded by lush green trees that create a very serene atmosphere.
How to get there:
You can take a flight from your home country to Lukang and then head straight for Lachunghutse. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Chengdu or Chongqing city (there are direct buses from the latter).
What to expect: You will be taken on a yak ride through the mountains of Lachung County in Sichuan Province. This is one of the most unique experiences you can have for your holiday in Sichuan province. The ride lasts about two hours and includes some beautiful views as well as getting up close with some amazing animals like wild horses, Tibetan antelope and Tibetan gazelles!
Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary is a nature reserve in Lachung, Tibet. It is home to the rare Shingba Rhododendron, which grows only on this hillside.
The sanctuary was founded by local monks in 1795 and has been under conservation efforts since then. The sacred nature of this place makes it an ideal location for hiking and trekking through its forests and hillsides. Lachen Gompa is a Buddhist monastery located in the Lachen Valley. It was founded by Lama Naljor, who was a disciple of Buddha Sakyamuni. The gompa was one of the first monasteries built in this region and has been around for more than 500 years now.
The monastery offers visitors a chance to learn more about Tibetan Buddhism, including meditation techniques and ways you can use them on your journey towards enlightenment (if you're not already!). Visitors can also take part in various activities like chanting or meditating while they stay here; there's even an art gallery where locals sell their paintings from previous trips!

If you are looking for an exciting place to go on holiday, the Chopta Valley is one of the best destinations in Lachung. This beautiful valley has plenty of things to offer and it's also known as a good place for hiking, bird watching and camping.
The Chopta Valley is located about 6 km away from Lachung city center and can be reached by taking an auto-rickshaw or taxi from there if you don't want too much walking around during your stay there. If you're planning on staying at least one night before going hiking or camping in this area then getting some rest would be good idea because after all it will take at least 2 hours before reaching this destination."
The Lachung Yak Festival is held in December and is a celebration of yak meat. The festival is a chance to meet local yak herders, learn about their culture and sample yak meat.
There are many things to do in Lachung for a fantastic holiday, but skiing is one of the best. Skiing is a great way to spend time with family and friends as well as being fun and relaxing. It's also an ideal activity if you have children as they can learn how to ski at an early age, which will help them later down the road when they want to pursue their own passion for skiing or snowboarding (or both!)
