Dhanbad is a city in Jharkhand, India. It is the headquarters of Dhanbad district and is also known as "the Manchester of Jharkhand". Dhanbad was founded in 1860 by the British when they took over the region after defeating its ruler Birsa Munda. The city has a population of more than 1 million people as per 2011 census.

Dhanbad has been developed as an industrial hub and it hosts several industries including coal mines, cement factories and steel plants. The Bandy-League is one such event that will be held at various stadiums throughout this region during the month of November. This tournament comprises four teams: Bhilwara, Jharia (JH), Bokaro Steel City (BSC) and Dhanbad Town Police Team (DTPT). Each team will play against each other twice with each match scheduled for three days or more each time they meet up again after some time apart from their opponents playing each other once before starting up again until they reach their conclusion where everyone wins something! The first match was played between the Bhilwara and Jharia Teams. It was a heated battle that ended in a draw. The second match featured BSC and DTPT who again played to a stalemate.

The festival includes various activities such as dancing to folk music, playing games like cricket or kabaddi, etc., eating traditional Maharashtrian food (such as Puran Poli), making rangolis on roadsides, etc. Eid Mela is a festival that is celebrated in the month of August. It is celebrated in the state of Jharkhand and its surrounding areas, including Dhanbad and its surrounding areas. Ballygiri Jharkhand Ek Stepanjali Mela

Ballygiri Jharkhand Ek Stepanjali Mela is a festival in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India. It is held annually on the first Monday of January. The main event of this festival is the traditional dance performance by school children from all over India who come to perform at this event. The venue for this event has been shifted from its original location near Bhatla Road to new premises at Old Railway Road since it was not possible anymore to accommodate more than one lakh people who used to attend this festival every year before 2002 due to rapid urbanization process taking place around that time. This mela is a source of great pride for the city and state of Jharkhand. It has been held annually since 1985, except in 2002 when it was not organized due to security reasons.

Barki Gondola Race

Barki Gondola Race is a popular sports event in Dhanbad. The Barki Gondola Race is held in the month of June every year, to promote tourism and attract visitors to the city. This event is organized by Shri Santosh Gram Panchayat and Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation Limited (JTDC). The race is held on a six-kilometer track, which is situated between Barki and Gondola. The event includes both men’s and women’s categories. In the men’s category, there are two divisions namely A and B. While in the women category, there are four divisions named There is also a martial arts competition held during this event. The competitors use bamboo sticks to hit each other on the head, shoulders and back.

The participants race each other on wooden gondolas through a water course measuring 20 meters long, which they hope will inspire people to visit this place again!

Nopani Kala Utsav is a festival celebrated in the month of March. It is also known as Ganesh Rojgar Mela, and it marks the beginning of spring season. Bhairav Mela

Bhairav Mela is a religious festival celebrated in the month of April, May and June. It is also celebrated in July every year. The Bhairav Mela is organized by Shree Rajendra Singh Ji Maharaj, who is known as Bhairav Sahib Ji Maharaj or simply Bhairav Sahibaan to his followers.

The main aim of this festival is to worship Lord Shiva who represents purity and goodness; therefore he has been given many names like 'Maheshwari' meaning 'the lord who protects', 'Gauri’ meaning ‘white-skinned one’ etc. The most important and prominent aspect of this festival is the procession of Lord Shiva, which attracts large number of devotees from all over India. It also attracts people who are not even Hindus. The Bhairav Mela is organized every year at Ujjain Thakur's temple in Madhya Pradesh.
