Kozhikode is one of the most popular destinations in Kerala, and for good reason. It's home to some of the state's best beaches and cultural sites, along with plenty of historical monuments and museums. If you're planning a trip to Kerala anytime soon or just want to know when's the best time to visit this beautiful city, read on for everything you need!
Kozhikode is a city in the state of Kerala, India. It is known as the "city of palm trees" and "city of elephants".
Kozhikode was founded by the Portuguese in 1503 and became an important port for trade with Ceylon (Sri Lanka). In 1667, it was captured by the Dutch who renamed it as Chirayinkeezhu and then again into Koyilandy during British rule over India.
The city has several monuments including:
Marthanda Varma Temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu;
Vaikom Mahavir Swami Temple which houses one of three holy stones believed to have fallen from heaven;
If you're planning on visiting this beautiful place here's what else you should know before going:
Kozhikode has a tropical climate with hot and humid weather. The average temperature is about 26 degrees Celsius in the summer, which makes it one of the hottest places in Kerala. In winter, temperatures range from 13 to 20 degrees Celsius depending on how much rain has fallen over the previous months.
During this period there are frequent showers which can last for several hours at a time or even days at some point during your stay. This means that you should always carry an umbrella with you when traveling around town! If you happen to be visiting during these rainy months; make sure that your hotel provides towels or mats so they can give them away if needed as well!
Kozhikode is a popular tourist destination in Kerala. It's also one of the most vibrant cities in the state, with everything you'd want from an urban setting: restaurants, shopping malls and nightlife.
It has all this without being overcrowded or too expensive. The best time to visit Kozhikode is during the peak season (December through February). This will give you access to higher prices but also more options when it comes to transportation and accommodation rates.
If you're planning to visit Kozhikode during its peak season, it's likely that the beaches and coastal areas will be crowded with tourists. This is because Kozhikode is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. However, if you plan on visiting when there aren't many people around or even if you want to avoid crowds altogether (like me), then this might be a good time for your trip!
The reason why I say "might" is because depending on how crowded they get during their peak season (which varies from year-to-year), some places may still be packed out with people even during offseasons like this one. So don't worry too much about whether or not things are going to be empty—just go ahead and book your tickets now so that once they open up again next year, they'll already be gone!
The monsoon season in Kozhikode is between June and September and is the best time to visit. During this time, you'll get to enjoy some of the best beaches in Kerala, as well as many other attractions such as heritage sites.
Kozhikode has a number of cultural festivals and events that take place throughout the year. These festivals and events are usually held in the city's various historical sites, monuments and museums.
The best time to visit Kozhikode is during these festivals or events:
December-January - Christmas carnival (also known as Sree Krishna Janmashtami or Christmas)
March/April - Vaikom Mahotsavam (Murugan festival)
The best time to visit Kozhikode's beaches and coastal areas is from March to May. This is when the weather is pleasant, with temperatures ranging between 24-33 degrees Celsius during this period. Spring and summer are also ideal times for tourists who want to enjoy nature while they're in Kerala.
In terms of historical sites, the best time to visit Kozhikode is during the months of April and May. The monsoon season (June through September) is also a great time for exploring locales in and around Kozhikode. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option, then you should consider visiting during these months as well!
Kozhikode's wildlife reserves and national parks are best visited during the monsoon season. During this time, you'll see more animals and birds than any other time of year. The best time to visit is between June and September (June-October).
There are several reasons why it's better to visit during this season:
It's warmer and drier than other times of year, which means there will be fewer bugs or mosquitoes around.
There is less traffic on roads because people have left town for vacations or work assignments outside of Kerala State.
The best time to visit Kozhikode's local markets and bazaars is during the off season. During this period, many of the famous stalls are closed, but you can still enjoy your vacation by visiting them at a different time.
During this time of year, it is also more affordable than during other times of year as most prices drop down to as low as Rs 50 per person (or less).
Pack clothes that can be worn in different seasons.
Pack clothes that are comfortable and versatile.
Pack clothes that are easy to wash and dry, or else you may find yourself washing your dirty laundry again in Kozhikode!
Make sure you pack enough supplies for your trip (this includes toiletries, food/drinks etc.). It’s best not to buy these items before you arrive on site unless there is no alternative store nearby—you might end up spending more money than necessary if something is unavailable at the destination because it wasn't available when needed there!
Kozhikode is a safe place to visit, but there are some precautions you should take in order to avoid becoming a victim of crime.
Avoid walking alone at night or in deserted areas—even if you feel safe doing so, it's best not to take chances.
Keep valuables out of sight when traveling around the city center and its outskirts. If possible, don't carry large amounts of cash with you; instead exchange money at one of the many ATMs found on most major roads throughout Kerala—ATM cards can be used anywhere in India as long as they have been activated by their owner first (they cost $1).
To ensure that you have the best experience during your stay in Kozhikode, we recommend visiting during the months of October and November. These are typically cooler months and thus ideal for visiting in Kerala. You will also be able to enjoy some beautiful weather while enjoying all that this lovely state has to offer.
For those who wish to travel around the city, there are many fun attractions available including beaches and parks such as Nelliyamma Beach or Anamudi peak hike path; both provide great views of surrounding areas as well as interesting stories about their history!
If hiking isn't your thing but still want some exercise during your trip then try taking one of these tours offered by our company instead: "Kerala Hill Stations Tour Package" which includes roundtrip transportation from airport along with sightseeing stops at Munnar (home base), Alleppey/Fort Kochi (this one offers beautiful beaches), Munnar National Park etc., worth going at least once in life!
The best time to visit Kozhikode is during the monsoon season. This is when many tourists flock to the city and it's also an ideal time to visit India because it's inexpensive to travel there, especially if you're visiting from abroad.
The second-best time to visit Kozhikode is during the offseason (June). This will give you more flexibility with your schedule as well as lower prices on flights, accommodation and food!
Thirdly, fourthly...and finally: If you want some rain then don't come here!
In conclusion, the best time to visit Kozhikode based on your interests and preferences is between May and October. This is when Kozhikode experiences its highest temperatures during the day and nighttime. The climate makes it ideal for traveling during these months, as you will have a pleasant experience without having to worry about heat or rain ruining your trip
