Alibaug is a small town in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is located on the Arabian Sea Coast and has an average elevation of 14 meters (47 feet). The town was founded in the 17th century by Siddi Muslims who migrated from Gujarat. The name "Alibaug" means "white hill".
