Chittorgarh is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It was founded by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1636 and has become one of the most important cities in Rajasthan due to its historic significance, culture and location. Rich Historical Significance

Chittorgarh is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It was founded by Chitrasen, a member of Parmara clan, who established the first capital at present-day Alwar district near Bharatpur city. The fort of Chittorgarh was constructed in 1428 CE by Rao Paliwal II who ruled that region during its golden age as an independent kingdom named Mewar after him. The fort has been declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 due to its rich architectural heritage and history dating back to 7th century AD when it was first built by Maharaja Ratan Singh Mewatiyaa(Rana).

Jain Temples

The Kirti Stambh is a seven-story temple dedicated to Adinath, the first Jain Tirthankara. It was built by Raja Bhagwan Das in 1434 AD and has a height of 29 meters. The main deity here is Lord Adinath with 24000 statues depicting different aspects of his life on each level (or stambha).

It's located in Chittorgarh city which lies on the Chittorgarh Banks and ATMs of Saraswati River, about an hour's drive from Udaipur city via NH1 highway or 20 minutes walk from Palace Museum near Bawada Mall Road. You can also reach it by train from Udaipur railway station (5 minutes).

While enroute for safety at Agra Fort (then known as Fatehpur Sikri), she was surrounded by advancing troops led by Muhammad bin Tughluq's forces who demanded that she surrender herself back into exile; otherwise they would kill all men within their reach once they reached Chittor fort.
