He took over his father’s business after he died at age 59. In 1874, he started exporting green teas from his plantation which was then called ‘Ambootia’ after an area near Calcutta where it was grown with high humidity levels for two years straight without any rain falling on it during those times!

Take a joyride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway is a narrow gauge railway in West Bengal, India. It runs from New Jalpaiguri to Kurseong and is part of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway line that links Siliguri with Siliguri Town via Alipurduar.

The whole journey takes around 2 hours 30 minutes by train, though you can also take an express train as well if you want to get there faster! The train travels through lush green forests and passes through beautiful valleys while climbing up steep hillsides before arriving at Kurseong Station at an elevation of 1120 meters above sea level (3629 feet).

The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Museum is a must-visit for all history buffs. Located in Kurseong, this museum houses some of the most important artifacts related to Bose: his birth certificate and other documents related to him, as well as photographs. Visit the Eagle's Craig Trekking Base Camp

The Eagle's Craig Trekking Base Camp is a must-visit for any traveller who wants to enjoy the beauty of Kurseong and its surrounding areas. This place has been in existence since 1874, when it was established by William Chapman, who built a tea estate on this land. Today, this unique facility serves as an ideal place for trekkers and tourists alike to explore their surroundings while enjoying some great views at the same time. The facilities here include dormitories for overnight stay, dining hall where you can have your meals cooked by qualified chefs or even just sit down and relax after a long day out exploring nature’s wonders around you!

Visit the Castleton Tea Estate

The Castleton Tea Estate has been a part of the Kurseong town since the mid-1800s. Today, it's a popular tourist spot and one of the best places to visit in Kurseong if you're looking for some adventure!

The tea factory is where all your favourite teas are made, including Assam tea and Darjeeling black tea. You can watch how they process leaves from different regions around India before using them in their blends. If you're lucky enough to be there during harvest season (December through March), you'll get to see how many leaves are picked each day—and what happens when they dry out!

The garden features beautiful scenery created by nature itself: rocks shaped like elephants sit next to waterfalls that look like monkeys climbing trees; pathways wind among foliage as far as your eyes can see; birds sing songs about love...

Visit the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary

Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area in the Indian state of West Bengal. The sanctuary is located in the Palamu district and covers an area of 2037 km2. It was established as a wildlife sanctuary on 1 April 1958 with an area of 1652 km2, but it has been enlarged twice since then to its present size. The area includes forests, grasslands and wetlands that are home to over 350 species of mammals such as elephants and tigers; over 500 birds including eagles; reptiles like snakes etc., hundreds more species including many insects like bees etc., some fish species too!

It’s one of my favourite places to visit when I go back home because there is so much diversity here

Visit the Ambotia Shiva Temple

The Ambotia Shiva Temple is a popular place of worship. It is located in the Himalayan foothills, and pilgrims come from all over India to visit the Kurseong Temples and pilgrimage sites. The temple was built around 100 years ago by an old woman who wanted her husband to stop arguing with her so often and instead treat her with respect. She also wanted him to stop beating their children, which he did not do because he believed that his wife deserved it all!

The goddess Ambotia protects children from harm, so if you have any young ones with you while visiting this site (which I highly recommend), then make sure they wear protective clothing like helmets or rubber boots. This will ensure that no harm comes upon them while they are worshipping at this sacred place!

Take a nature walk

Take a nature walk

Walk through the forest, looking for wildlife and plants, flowers and mushrooms. Look for rocks, animals and waterfalls. The best way to see Kurseong's natural beauty is by taking an afternoon stroll in one of its many forests or parks—you'll be amazed at all you can find! There are plenty of trails to choose from: most notably Mt Gaurishankar (a peak rising over 2,500 meters above sea level), which offers breathtaking views over valleys down below; or Lake Kamla Nehru Park where you can enjoy swimming or fishing if you're up for it; but there are also plenty more options available if you want something less strenuous on your feet!

In Kurseong, you can experience an array of fun activities that will make your trip memorable. Here are some suggestions for things to do in Kurseong:

Visit the Eagle's Craig viewpoint and explore its rich history by browsing through the displays at the Museum and taking pictures at this beautiful outdoor museum.

Trek to Eagle's Craig viewpoint along a trail which is about 2 miles long or take an auto-rickshaw from the main road, which costs Rs 500 per person (max 4 people).

Visit Giddapahar Tea Estate where they grow tea leaves on mountain slopes. This place also has a nice restaurant there called 'The Tea Leaf'. There are different types of tea blends available here like Darjeeling, Nilgiri Pink Champagne etc... They offer Indian cuisine too! It's amazing how much variety there is in India when it comes down to food choices! I also recommend checking out their restaurant if you're looking for something different than just eating traditional Bengali food dishes like chapati breads etc...
