The memorial consists of two statues: one depicting Damodar as a young man and another depicting him as an old man who died from injuries sustained during his battle with evil spirits known as daityas or canvas (demons). It is located on the bank of the Damodar River in the district of West Singhbhum, Jharkhand. The memorial was built at a cost of Rs. 3 crore and features a statue of Damodar which is 35 meters tall. It was built by sculptor Ravinder Reddy who also made statues for several other projects, including one depicting Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and another depicting Dr. B.R Ambedkar at Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai
