Malampuzha Garden is a sprawling botanical garden with diverse flora and fauna. The park was established in 1887 by the British Indian Army Officer, Colonel John Thomas White, who served as Assistant Engineer-in-Chief for Works in the Madras Presidency. It is located in Malampuzha, Palakkad district, Kerala.
The garden has its own zoo comprising around 200 animals such as deer, monkeys and birds on display along with other smaller animals like snakes etc. The park also houses various species of birds such as peacocks or peahens (female peafowl), pheasants (male pheasants) ducks among others which can be seen walking freely around their enclosures during daytime hours when they are not being fed by keepers at specific spots where food pellets are provided daily basis

Palakkad Fort is a historic fort with a rich past and magnificent architecture. It was built in the 16th century by the Zamorins of Kozhikode, who ruled the region from their capital at Vatakara until they were defeated by Travancore forces led by Marthanda Varma in 1751. The fort itself was then taken over by Tipu Sultan who made it his residence for five years before being captured by British forces led by Colonel Colin Campbell on 20 February 1799.
Palakkad Fort is located near Palakkad town on the banks of Kuttanad River near Pookota and has been declared as an archaeological monument since 1976 under Section 3(f) of Archaeological Survey Act 1972 (ASA).
